1976-1980 Rhode Island School of Design
I was in the BA program, taking mostly Illustration and Sculpture courses.

1982-1985 SkyZoo Kites, NYC
I was responsible for the Graphic, Aerodynamic and Production Design for a line of kites. Initally we did all the work ourselves (I can sew!), but we ended up hiring a shop to help us with production. Finally after realizing that desisgn is more interesting than manufactuing we closed the business and licesenced our most popular design to SpectraStar Kites, who are still making the SkyZoo shark kite.

1987-1990 Burns Connacher & Waldron Design, NYC
Illustrator/Animator/Designer
I was the in house illustrator doing all the graphics and animation for a cutting edge design firm. I created everything from Icons to disk based presentations. Another part of my job was evaluating new technologies, and experimenting with new ways to use existing technologies. We were among the first to use low end imagesetters for color separations as well as being early adopters of technologies like hypercard and quicktime for interactive works. An interactive citizenship test that we made for Ellis Island in 1989 is still being used (I did update it for color in 1997).

1989-1999 Microcolor NYC
I was informal partners in this Illustration firm for 10 years. I worked on a huge variety of Illustration and animation projects ranging from the national park service to Apple computer.

1994-1996 NYU Center for Digital Multimedia, NYC
In-house illustrator and multimedia developer for a New York University multimedia incubator. Designing and creating software prototype interfaces. Web and media consulting for outside businesses. Software training for NYU partners.

1994-2000 Freelance Illustrator and Multimedia Developer
I have kept my freelance business going in addition to my regular jobs for over 6 years.

1999-2000 Associate at aabalone[red],Darien CT
I have done several projects with aabalone[red] ranging from a set of 20 Adobe Illustrator city maps for the SSBCITI website to Flash animations for corporate training and presentations as well as consulting on website interface design.

1999-2000 ArtFormFunction
ArtFormFunction is my own company incorporating my previous illustration and animation services, but adding product design to the mix. We are currently working on a line of plastic folding boats.

2000-Present American Stirling
Along with other clients and my own projects I have been working regularly with American Stirling a manufacturer of Stirling engine models and kits.
I have designed several Stirling Engine models for them including a unique kit for a working engine made almost entirely of cardboard.
